Snow White or The Queen ?
Hullo guys !
I just watched the Snow White and The Huntsman movie and I am totally impressed with the costumes. Well, the story is alluring also but it has lack of plot, I think it doesn't strong enough. For me the costumes got my total attention. I love the gleamy and dark, with a little (okay, a lot) of feathers that the Queen (Ravenna aka Ms.Theron) wore and her gowns seemed to be very glamorous and never out-of-date. For Snow White...Well, dear, I have to say Kristen doesn't pull the character out so well. Snow White that I saw wasn't all brave and warrior but she wasn't a weak princess too. She is a little bit lost. But, never mind, unless for that Kristen played like a pro with only two costumes (eh, budget problem ?). She wore very dirty and maid-like dress for 90 percent of the movie and at the final battle she wore a gleamy, not-so-princess armor. Oh, for 5 or 10 seconds she wore a super-white, dead person clothes.Okay, we understand that she was prisoner but really ? Only 2 costumes ? Where was the stylist ?
For the men, like usual : very traditional and dirty English costumes and armors. A lot of armors. Let's skip it.
Charlize Theron for God's sake really stole the show ! Kristen Steward looked a bit too usual maybe because Bella and Twilight image ? I don't know but really the only character that feels so alive and up in the sky is the Queen. She was bitter and arrogant but sometimes (in rare moment and a split second) she showed her smooth side, which can be a dangerous side as well. The magic she has felt so real and imaginable. I understand her trauma (you have to watch the movie if you want to understand this) and I can feel her desperation to gain youth or maybe I become more like her (immortality in fashion world.WOW).
For Kristen.Ah, Kristen ! For me, she acted good but I feel her Bella-this-is-so-twilight side and this really impacts the character. She looked like a helpless but I-can-do-this Snow White and I can't really understand her character. The Snow White was torn apart, maybe this happened because of the story, I feel she doesn't try to be strong but she doesn't weak at all. What is she ? Kristen did good but not extraordinary. She let the movie focused on the Queen not her. It can turned out to be The Queen Ravenna and F*ckin' Huntsman That Almost Killed Her. And Kristen wouldn't even try to protest. Ah, classic.
The Huntsman by Chris Hemsworth (spelling ?) was fine. I didn't see anything special except a twist of love story and blah,blah,blah true kiss and so on. But, the ending is interesting. Did they get married ? Did he run ? Did he know Snow White love him too ? A bit confusing and very awkward if there is Snow White 2, which is not really a promising aspect. One is enough and the ending is not.
The review, of course, is my opinion based only. If you have different sides or don't like it. That's totally okay ! I am a free person in a free world, fellas !
