This medium price brand knows no stop ! After a big collaboration with Marni and Anna Dello Russo, this brand is trying to come back with collaboration with Maison Martin Margiella. A very avant-garde brand and as we know, most of the avant-garde are un-wearable and ver 'red carpet looks'. Well, I am sure they can do something about it.
But, this is fun to guess which outfits will they released or what is the theme or who will be the model or is it as expensive as the last collaboration ? For me, the best part is to guess : is the designer going to keep up with his specialty or not ? If it not, then there is nothing to buy or there is nothing to report because the main point of collaboration is to mix two different ideas from two -totally- different designers and not just for marketing only. The clothes in the other hand, has to be delicate and tempting and reflect both of designers' personalities in a good way. H&M, I think, doesn't do something like this. They just throw the collaboration into famous designer and let him/her designed for them, then they're the one that will sell the clothes.
The H&M doesn't really looked like a total brand actually. It looks like a commercial brand and I really doubt if they have a real designer, not just a business managers that told the company what should they make next season.
Maison in the other hand is a total high fashion brand and they will do everything to make people surprised and realized the real creativity of haute couture.
Well, not a very good combination between a full commercial and full high fashion. Two sides from fashion world that look same but totally different.
Those are points that will make this collaboration idea much entertaining and exciting to see the result. Is it going to be a hit like Versace and Marni ? Or is it going to be the first time H&M's miss ? We will see -and probably will buy if they will sell t-shirts and square shorts.
